Prospective future in Vietnamese coffee

USDA has predicted the productivity of Vietnamese coffee consumption in 2012-2013. It said that it will reach about 1.83 million packages that 60 kg per one. In last year, this number is only 1.7 million packs. USDA also hopes that Vietnam will be the biggest exporter and also producer in robusta coffee. The reason comes from the increasing in investment.

The coffee quantity in the storage till 30th, September , 2011 reached 510,000 packs, raised by 53% over the last same period. The farmers kept part of products to buy in the higher price in the next crop. Robusta coffee of Vietnam in the last week has just increase to the highest price in the seven months of the year, reached about 42.8 - 43 million VND/ton. The demand in robusta coffee in the world is very high because of the high demand of the processing coffee. In addition, the slow selling creates the stable coffee price.

The famers in Tay Nguyen is building hope to sell the products if it increases to 45 million VND per ton. Vietnam has exported about 928,000 tons from October, 2011 to April, 2012, reduced to  0.85% over the last same crop.

In May, it is estimated that there have about 110,000 – 130,000 tons coffee in export. The total productivity increased to 1.04 million tons.
