Indonesia will continue to purchase 200 tonnes of rice from Vietnam at the end of 2010, said Indonesian Minister of Trade Mari Elka Pangestu on December 20.
According to the Minister, Indonesia planed to increase their national rice import volume to 1 million tonnes to maintain a storage depot of 1.5 million tonnes by the end 2010.
Indonesia has so far bought 850,000 tonnes of rice globally and it will import the rest from Thailand and Vietnam, she added. – VOV
