Shrimp still is the main Vietnamese export products
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in May, the aqua products export turnover reached 500 million USD, raised by 2.3 billion USD, increased to 9.8% over the last same period. The main product is shrimp.
Japan is the largest market of Vietnamese shrimp which made up 26.9% of the total turnover. The second largest one is USA with the total export turnover was 150 million USD, raised by 4% over the last same period.
Asian is also the potential market for Vietnamese shrimp. Australia was very impressive with the record increasing (70%), exceeded Canada to become the 6th largest market of Vietnam export.
The aqua product expert said that, besides the strong growth Asian, it is still in pale in export activity to EU due to the tax barrier and public debt.
Three main consumptions of Vietnamese shrimp in EU were Germany, England, and France. They all reduced Vietnamese shrimp import. In details, it reduced to 26.4% in Germany, 10.9% in Netherland, and 16.3% in Italy.

Vietnam earned over 6.15 billion USD from exports of goods to the US in the first five months of the year, an increase of 22.5 percent over the same period last year.
