Pepper export reached 550 million USD
The quantity of pepper is not much, but the quality has considerably increased, about 30% over the last same period.
It is expected that in 2012, Vietnam will export about 120,000 tons pepper, value 850-900 million USD.
However, Mr. Do Ha Nam said that, the only worry here is the too fast enlarging in pepper area. It means that the risk will be easily met in future.
Especially, in Dak Lak, the pepper area can double to the temporary (about 10,000 ha). In particular, in Ea H'Leo, Krông Buk, Buôn Hồ, Krông Pak, Krông Năng, the increasing area I pepper is the worry for the unstable agriculture now.
According to the agricultural experts, now it has thousands of ha in pepper area. But due to the lack of knowledge, many pepper trees died.
