Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and France is expected to reach about 1.15 billion EUR in the first sixth months of this year, or an increase of nearly 22 percent over the same period in 2010. The figure is realistic as turnover hit 772.3 million EUR in the first four months, a year-on-year increase of 24.3 percent, according to the Commerce Bureau of the Vietnamese Embassy in France . Trade Counselor Pham Xuan Yen at the bureau reported that in the four-month two-way trade value, Vietnam 's export earnings made up 594.1 million EUR and is expected to reach 890 million EUR by the end of June. Electrical and electronic appliances alone brought the country 107.3 million EUR in the first four months of this year, equivalent to the 2010 value. During the four-month period, Vietnam spent 178.2 million EUR on buying goods from France, a decrease of over 9 percent compared to the same period last year. Source: Vietnamplus |
