Việt Nam's plastic industry gained an export turnover of US $1 billion in 2010, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Some Vietnamese high-quality plastic products Vietnamese plastic produces, including those brand named Bình Minh, Tiền Phong, Minh Hùng and Rạng Đông, have been exported to 41 countries and territories, including the US, EU members, Japan and the Philippines, said Phạm Ngọc Hải, Vice Director of the Industrial Policy and Strategy Institute under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, at a seminar held on December 30 in Hà Nội. To foster the industry, the ministry will ask plastic-related enterprises to continue to improve their products' quality and propose relevant entities to grant soft loans with low interest rate to them. Also at the seminar that introduced a draft plan on developing the plastic industry until 2020, with a vision to 2025, Việt Nam Plastic Association's Chairman Lê Quang Doanh said that the industry plans to gain an added value of over VND10 trillion in 2015, and more than VND32 trillion in 2025. He added that the industry's annual growth rate is around 20-25%, and its output in 2010 reached 3,800 tons.
